Songs for the City of Angels
2002 World Festival of Sacred Music - Los Angeles DVD
Directed and Edited by Mark Eby; Produced by Judy Mitoma
TRT: 54 mins

The 2002 World Festival of Sacred Music -LA was a sixteen-day celebration of the rich sacred music traditions of the people of Los Angeles featuring 2,000 artists in 54 events in venues ranging from the city's major stages to intimate places of worship. Songs for the City of Angels tells one small part of this vast story.

Artists traveling from Indonesia, India, New Caledonia and Taiwan were welcomed by Americans as they shared their music at the remarkable sites of our city from the meditative courtyards of a Malibu Hindu Temple, to a Buddhist temple in Hacienda Heights, to the shores of the Santa Monica beach. This film takes us on a fantastic journey that honors our interconnectedness with nature and the people of the world.
