Mamak Khadem, Songs of Spirit joined by Kourosh Moradi. Kourosh Moradi, born in Iran, started playing tanbur at an early age with his father, legendary tanbur master, Ali Akbar Moradi. He has also studied daf with grand daf maestros of the Yarsan Sufi mystical order and has performed at many festivals and concerts worldwide. He has collaborated with Robert Bly, a translator of Rumi mystical poetry in order to promote awareness of Eastern ancient civilization and Sufism. Other performers include: Jacqueline Fuentes who is a Putumayo recording artist, singer-songwriter from Chile. Her music is a spiritual force that touches your soul, taking you into a deep journey through emotions, inspiration and awareness. Lazaro Galarraga of P.A.W.S. (Percussion Artists Studio) is a founding member of the famed Conjunto Folklorico de Cuba, Maestro Galarraga is recognized as one of the world's leading authorities and a true living master of Afro-Cuban religion, music, dance and culture. He will be joined by Angel Luis Figueroa and Richard Thaler for a performance of Orisha songs accompanied by BATA drums. Georgianne Cowan, Anahata, and Laurel Kitten perform Sacred Dance from the Source that catalyzes primeval forces back to life, conjuring the sensual and exotic divine feminine—Joined by percussionist, Christopher Pellani. Lisa Rafel’s healing sounds and sacred melodies integrate beautiful harmonic overtone resonances, seed syllable mantras, and ancient and indigenous intonations into modern melodic forms that awaken body and spirit.
