A participatory ritual performance like no other, The Rhythm of Ecstasy ignites the pranic flow between dancer and drum, breath and beat. Join a tribe of musicians, dancers and artists to experience the healing power of rhythm and dance with an intoxicating blend of east/west grooves, hypnotic melodies and mind-bending ambient soundscapes. With a mission to create a sacred environment in which the community can reclaim music, rhythm and dance as healer, Zen Dancing and Shaman’s Dream World Music Ensemble present ecstatic world music & ritual dance performances rooted in African, Afro-Brazilian, Middle Eastern and East Indian traditions while integrating the latest in urban funky beats.

Performers include: Craig Kohland, bougarabou and dun dun; Micheline Berry, dun dun, harmonium, vocals; Jason Hann, drum kit, djembe; Alex Spurkel, dumbek; Tony Khalife, tabla, dumbek, guitar and eastern vocals; Carlos Torres, Latin percussion; Rara Avis, guitar, programming/looping, vocals; Martin St. Pierre, violin/east Indian strings; Phillipo Franchini, guitar, saz, mandolin; Domonic Dean Breaux, flute, sax, miswich; Caitanya, East Indian Vocals; Donna De Lory, harmonium & vocals; Jacqueline Fuentes, vocals; Kate St. Pierre, vocals; and Antoine Bonsorte, bass. Ritual dance performances by: Micheline Berry; Anahata & The Urban Gypsy Dancers; Hoopnotica Hoopdance Troupe and others.
