At the Self-Realization Fellowship Hollywood Temple |
|
The Self Realization Fellowship warmly welcomes the public to experience the spiritually uplifting power of Kirtan- devotional chanting in a deeply profoundly peaceful setting. Parmahansa Yogananda believed that the Indian Kirtan has the power to bridge cultural differences and earthly distinctions, leading to a heightened awareness of the oneness of Spirit. The SRF monastic order leads a participatory heart-opening journey into the mystical sound of kirtans in English, Sanskrit, Hindi, and Bengali, accompanied by harmonium, tabla, cymbals, tanpura, and bells. The old-growth gardens and moving music invite the listener into their own sacred space. Founded in 1942, the Hollywood Temple was one of the principal places where Paramahansa Yogananda led his services and is now considered a place of pilgrimage for devotees of Self-Realization Fellowship. Presented by the Self-Realization Fellowship. |
