Jiri Pavlica & Hradistan Dulcimer Band and Zhena Folk Chorus
Music Under Glass

The breathtaking Lloyd Wright-designed Wayfarers Chapel—the “glass church” by the sea—is the setting for the meeting of two unique performing groups. Amid the enchanted forest surrounding the chapel, witness the unique collaboration of the distinguished Jiri Pavlica & Hradistan Dulcimer Band from Moravia in the Czech Republic and Zhena Folk Chorus, soulful and spirited Los Angeles-based a cappella singers.

The women of Zhena perform the group’s signature village folk music from Eastern Europe and beyond. Their story-like narrative guides the audience through ancient rituals, rapturous love songs, and raucous tunes, all sung in a diverse group of languages from the region.

Jiri Pavlica & Hradistan promise to delight listeners with their remarkable interpretation of the regional folk music of Moravia, Bohemia and Slovakia. Their music offers insight into the history and development of folk art throughout the centuries and the fusion of folk music with classical music and folk rock.

Presented by Zhena Folk Chorus.
