THE GUEST HOUSE
Robert Een and the Mystical All-Star Band

“This being human is a guest house” -Rumi

Around the world, guest houses situated near worship sites provide temporary refuge for travelers on pilgrimage. Obie-award winning composer Robert Een and the Mystical All-Star Band present a musical vision of a guest house. Honoring the spiritual master Meher Baba’s teaching that, "all religions are like different colored beads on one string," Een’s music draws on diverse musical and spiritual traditions to weave a complex fabric of sound. Musicians Gwen Wyatt (gospel singer/Los Angeles), Yuval Ron (oud/Israel), Sizzle Ohtaka (singer/Japan), Mader (accordion/France), Billy Goodrum (guitar & keyboard/South Carolina), MB Gordy (drums & percussion) and other mystery guests gather from three continents—and seemingly conflicting interests and backgrounds—in the spirit of tolerance, grace and compassion.

Cellist, vocalist and composer Een has performed his music at sacred sites around the globe, including the Buddhist caves of Ellora, India; the Shinto shrine in Tsurugi, Japan; as well as the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Quaker Meeting House in New York City. A truly original and boldly emotive artist, Een conveys great empathy and imagination.
