A Universal Harmony of Souls: An Evening of Sacred Music and Prayer
A multicultural gathering presented by the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) at their Lake Shrine, the evening seeks to encourage cultural and spiritual understanding between East and West. With performances by Dance Celeste (music and dance of Cambodia); the outstanding American ensemble Balinese Gamelan Burat Wangi (Balinese orchestra and dancers); Jeffery Barnes' Bahá'í Choir; and the SRF Nuns' Kirtan Group; and recitation and songs by Qari Ashraf Carrim and Cantor Haim Mizrah, this event aims to promote unity, harmony and peace through the universal language of sacred music and prayer. The audience will be encouraged to participate in selected activities, and the evening culminates in a prayer for world peace and the launching on the lake of hundreds of candle boats symbolizing the prayer requests of members of the audience.
