In a holy and magnificent setting that illustrates the harmony between the world of the spirit and the physical world, members of the Zhena Folk Chorus raise their voices in rapturous concordance with the beauty around them. Perpetuating the rich Eastern European choral music tradition—and singing "with perfect musical poise," says John Henken of the Los Angeles Times—the chorus interprets folk songs from Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Macedonia, Albania, Russia, and the Ukraine. The event is co-presented by the Zhena Folk Chorus and Wayfarers Chapel. Designed by Lloyd Wright of glass, Palos Verdes stone, and redwood, the chapel situates the choir in a breathtaking, natural setting and superb sacred space specifically designed to foster a oneness with nature.
