Sea of Fire: Robert Een and Friends
When rain falls, it starts a fire. —Meher Baba

This seemingly contradictory statement is explained by the Indian spiritual master Meher Baba: "when the tears of concern and compassion well up in the eyes of an individual, these falling tears kindle a burning desire in the heart to help and aid others." Sea of Fire is a metaphor for the life of a Bodhisattva—in the Buddhist tradition one who is dedicated to helping others on the spiritual path. Acclaimed composer, singer, and cellist Robert Een returns to the World Festival of Sacred Music having witnessed the devastation in New York City on September 11. Joining Een will be Bill Ruyle on hammer dulcimer, Jeff Berman on lap dulcimer, vibraphone and percussion, and vocalist Toby Newman. "Out of an incredible fire of hatred and destruction, the selfless service and acts of courage aroused in people poured forth a sea of grace and compassion," says Een.
