Melody, Harmony, Rhapsody
Clap your hands, stomp your feet, shout for joy, dance in the aisles—the spirit of brotherhood abounds as artists of diverse traditions and ethnicity under the direction of Derrick Pete and Maestro Ronald M. Simpkins, take to the stage of the art deco Warner Grand Theater in an uplifting celebration for the entire family. After a preshow by Bright Soul at 6:30, Master of Ceremonies Cantor Ilan Davidson of Temple Beth El and Reverend Najuma Smith of First AME Church are joined by Francis Awe in a trilogy of Jewish, Christian, and African Griot prayer. Also included in the first half of the programare Didn't It Rain Overture, an opening dance by the youthful Academy Cathedral Dancers; Silent Word performed by Silent Praise; the Gwen Wyatt Chorale performing spirituals by African American composer Jester Hairston; and the Familia Maranatha Band featuring costumes, instrumentation, and songs from the Bolivian Andes.

The second half of the program includes the 150th Psalm by the Academy Cathedral Dancers; the vocal harmonies of Sixth Wave Vocal Band; sacred jazz with the Sherwood Sledge Quartet; and The Legendary Clara Ward Singers.
