Krishna Das and Bhagavan Das with the Kirtan Posse
Steeped in the ancient path of the Yoga of Chant, Krishna Das and Bhagavan Das both come from the same tradition of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion. Hailed as the "chant master of American yoga" by The New York Times, Krishna Das has been leading kirtans (call-and-response chants) and retreats throughout America for the last seven years. Bhagavan Das is an adept of Nada Brahma, the mastery of internal sound currents. The evening's concert includes the ancient chants of India, Sanskrit mantras, and both traditional call and response with the audience as well as solo evocations. Adding atmosphere to the evening will be projected images from India entitled Portraits of India. Accompanying both artists will be the Kirtan Posse which includes Ty Burhoe on tabla, Wah! on bass, Lily Hayden on violin, Craig Kholand on percussion, and guest stars to be announced.
