The Art of Drumming
A solemn libation to the spirits and special devotional ceremony at 12 Noon kick off the two days of sacred drumming. Saturday features the main drum circle. Bring your drum and be a part of the one of the largest drum circles in Southern California. Performing will be seasoned drummers Najite and his drum corp connecting West African to Afro-Cuban rhythms and a special performance by the Afro-Cuban dance ensemble Umbalaiye. Sunday, share the music with renowned master drummers and bands including Poncho Sanchez, Francis Awe and the Nigerian Talking Drum Ensemble, Najite and the Olokun Prophecy, Alessandra Belloni and many others. Sharpen your skills in drum workshops and clinics and enjoy the International marketplace surrounded by the sounds and vibrations of sacred drums.
