TishTones & Sylvia Cotton Singers
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16
Time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Cost: $18 general admission
Beth Shir Shalom’s resident band The TishTones and Orange County’s gospel group, The Sylvia Cotton Singers, present an afternoon of music that touches the spirit, mind and soul in a healing embrace of sound.
Led by singer/songwriter Rabbi Neil Comess-Daniels, the TishTones have been playing together for fifteen years as the congregation band at Beth Shir Shalom, a progressive reform Jewish Temple in Santa Monica. With an eclectic mix of influences ranging from Klezmer to reggae, and even a little rock and roll, The TishTones are the heart and soul of once-a-month Sabbath services where traditional Hebrew prayers are reworked into uplifting songs.
The Sylvia Cotton Singers are a passionate vocal quartet united under the direction of Sylvia Cotton. For the past decade, they have spread their love of Jesus Christ throughout Southern California with heartfelt and inspiring gospel music. The Singers' music is a rich blend of intimate vocal and musical harmonies of early spiritual, traditional, jazz, and contemporary gospel. With this unique style, they generate an unbelievable attraction to their music.
Reception to follow.
Presented by Beth Shir Shalom.
